Forum Networking – Use Short Paragraphs to Improve the Readability of Your Posts

Hi and Thanks for checking out my blog again. Where there is always something new to learn.

Networking on forums can be a good way to get new customers or clients.  Typically, you offer advice when someone asks a question.  You build relationships on the forum.  At the bottom of your posts, you can include a link to your Web site in your signature.

But if your posts aren’t easy to read, then people may not take the time to read your posts.  And they won’t make it to the bottom to see your signature and click on your link.

One way to make your post easier to read is to write in short paragraphs.  If your post is filled with big chunks of text, or one big paragraph, it won’t look easy to read.  It will look like a lot of work to read and most people won’t read it.

By writing in short paragraphs, your post looks more inviting to read.  It gives the impression that your post is easy to read.

While you’re writing your post, it may be hard to think of writing in short paragraphs at the same time as you’re writing.  Doing so may give you writer’s block because you end up writing and editing at the same time.

An easy way around this is to write your post first.  Once you’re done, go over your post to see if you can break your post down into shorter paragraphs.  When you see a long paragraph, break it into a new paragraph when a new idea is introduced.  So you end up having one idea per paragraph.

So if you have 2 or 3 ideas in one long paragraph, try splitting it into 2 or 3 shorter paragraphs.
