Online business with a total confusion.
I have been buying more ebooks and online courses than most people, spending lots of money and wasting about 15 hours a day in front of the computer chasing a dream called online business success.
With every new course, I had new hopes to finally make that money that successful internet gurus are talking about and every time I ended up with nothing. I seriously started to believe that there must be something very wrong with me.
I knew I wasn’t stupid and I had a very good understanding about how to technically set up a website and how to use an auto-responder and much more.
Why couldn’t I get just a little bit of success?
My Mentor changed everything.
I came to the conclusion that I either take a mentor who has overcome all the struggle and can teach me how to do it or I spend another 3 years trying to figure it out myself.
Taking a mentor was the obvious solution as I already had wasted too much time and money trying to establish an online business by myself. The first and most important thing I learned from my mentor was what I am going to tell you now.
Don’t do anything online before you are clear on the following 4 steps!
To be successful online you must consider it as a business and your primary focus should not be on money. This might come as a shock to you but it is essential for your success. Money will come as a result of careful planning and focus. The first and most important task should be the following:
1. Create Clear Goals.
Without clear goals you don’t know where you are going. If you don’t know where you are going, you are going nowhere. Be very clear on:
* Your Business Plan: What do you want?
* Your Entrepreneurial plan: What do you want to learn to get there?
* Your Personal Plan: What do you want to get out of your life?
When you know what your personal plan looks like, you will know what your business plan must be, so start looking at your personal plan first.
2. Create Your Plan.
When you know exactly what you want (be realistic), you must have a plan to get there. Work backwards and start with a:
* Yearly Plan: Where do you want to be with your business in one year?
* Monthly Plan: What is needed to be done month by month to meet your yearly plan?
* Weekly Plan: What do you need to do every week to meet your monthly plan?
* Daily Plan: What do you need to do every day to meet your weekly plan?
3. Write Your Own Pledge.
This is where you hold yourself accountable for the tasks that need to be done. Take your daily tasks that needs to be done to reach your goal and promise yourself to do them.
4. Use a “Daily Did List”.
Write down everything you did during the day and how long time it took. You will have a very clear list of where you are wasting your time and where you are having excuses for not focusing on the essential tasks for your goals and success.
Online business is no different to offline business. If you want to be successful there is no other way than having a clear path to your goal. This might not be a very exciting exercise to go through and you might be tempted to again purchase the latest “Getting Rich Quick” solution which will take you back to the very starting point.
Do the basics for your online business success with careful planning and focus as I described above or save yourself time and money and get out of the internet marketing business quickly.
